Privacy Policy
In short: Memo is a private family memory product. Parents control the account. We do not sell personal information. We do not use children’s media to train public AI models. You can request export or deletion of family data.
1. Who we are
Memo (“Memo,” “we,” “us”) provides a private family memory timeline and related services (the “Service”). For privacy questions, contact privacy@llmtools.me.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use the Memo iOS app, our websites (including https://llmtools.me), and our APIs. It does not cover third-party services you open through external links.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Account & family
- Email address, password (stored hashed), and display name
- Family space name, plan tier, and member roles
- Device join codes and device labels for caregiver devices
3.2 Child profiles (parent-provided)
- Display name, optional birth date, optional sex/avatar
- Notes and memories you choose to save about a child
Child profiles are created and managed by a parent or authorized caregiver. Memo is directed to parents and families, not to children acting on their own.
3.3 Content you create
- Text notes, tags, milestones, and reminders/events
- Photos, videos, voice notes, and documents you upload
- Optional location (device, manual pin, or media EXIF) when you enable it
3.4 Technical & diagnostic data
- App version, device type, approximate network diagnostics
- Authentication tokens and security logs needed to run the Service
- Limited server logs (e.g. request times, error codes) for reliability
3.5 Push notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device so we can deliver reminders you configure. You can disable notifications in system settings at any time.
3.6 Website waitlist
If you join a waitlist on our website, we process the email address you submit for invitation and product updates. You may request removal via privacy@llmtools.me.
4. How we use information
- Provide, sync, and secure the family timeline and related features
- Authenticate users and enforce family roles and device permissions
- Send optional reminders and service-related notices
- Improve reliability, fix bugs, and prevent abuse
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests
We do not sell personal information. We do not use child media or health-related content for third-party advertising.
5. Children’s privacy
Memo is designed for parents and authorized family caregivers. Children do not create independent accounts. Content about a child is provided under the direction of a parent/guardian or caregiver they invite.
We design with COPPA and similar children’s privacy principles in mind: limited collection, parental control, no behavioral ads on child data, and tools to export or delete family data as features mature.
If you believe we have collected information about a child improperly, contact privacy@llmtools.me and we will take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.
6. Sharing
We share information only as needed to run Memo:
- Within your family space — members and authorized devices you invite can see content according to roles and permissions
- Service providers — infrastructure such as cloud hosting, object storage (e.g. media files), and email/push delivery, bound by contractual confidentiality and purpose limits
- Legal — if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
- Business transfers — in a merger or acquisition, with notice where appropriate and continued protection of personal data
We do not sell your data to data brokers or ad networks.
7. Storage, security & retention
Media and account data are stored with reputable cloud providers. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and industry-standard access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong password and protect device access.
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When you delete content or close an account, we remove or de-identify data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for security/audit logs.
8. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access and receive a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete data or close your account
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
- Export family memories (product export features roll out over time; you may also request help at privacy@llmtools.me)
In-app controls include signing out, revoking caregiver device access, and deleting memories you are allowed to delete. Parents manage invitations and device join codes.
California residents: we do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are commonly defined for targeted advertising of child data. You may still contact us to exercise applicable CCPA/CPRA rights.
EEA/UK users: where GDPR applies, our legal bases include contract performance, legitimate interests (secure, improve Service), and consent where required (e.g. optional location or notifications).
9. International transfers
We may process data in countries other than where you live. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
10. AI features
Optional AI assistance (when enabled) is intended as a parenting helper only — not medical, legal, or professional advice. We do not use your family’s private media to train public foundation models. Prompts and results may be processed by subprocessors solely to provide the feature you requested, under contractual restrictions.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in-app or by email where appropriate.
